Bezabih "Buzz" Felleke wasn't your average child. Even when very young he always wanted to dress nicely. Once, when he was only three, he cried to have his pants pressed. Perhaps it was the influence of his father who was a governor in Ethiopia. Even as a young child, Buzz was often allowed to accompany his father on official business where dressing up wasn't optional.
Buzz came to the United States in 1970 to attend college majoring in agriculture. While here, communists took over Ethiopia and confiscated his family's lands. With no home to return to, Buzz worked as an Agricultural Inspector for 22 years in Kings County.
In 1996, Buzz and his wife, Derebwork "Dee", purchased Fashion Cleaners in Lemoore and renamed it B&D Quality Cleaners, Inc. They are especially proud that theirs is the first and only dry cleaners in Kings County using the new state of the art GreenEarth Cleaning process.
Not too long after, Buzz and Dee expanded their operation by opening Rebekah's Espresso and Joshua's Book Corner in the same building.
Today, Buzz can be seen around his businesses and Lemoore almost always dressed in a suit and tie. "I like dressing up, " he says. "I want to show my customers that I care about their clothes, and I can do that best by wearing good clothing myself. I want customers to know I will take as good care of their garments as I do my own."
"Clothing is very personal," Buzz continues. "It's what people put on to present themselves to the world. They spend time shopping to find just the right garment and just the right fit. It's also what they wear right next to their skin. It's important that their cleaners be considerate.
And if there's a problem, Buzz wants to know. "I will make it right," he says.
